Virtual hosting that’s actually private

Most “cloud” hosting puts your workloads on shared infrastructure alongside hundreds or thousands of other tenants. You have no visibility into who they are, what they’re running, or how their activity affects your performance and security.

CyteWorks offers virtual server hosting in Kansas City on dedicated hardware in our own underground limestone facility. Your VMs run on our hardware — not AWS, not Azure, not anyone else’s building. We provision, manage, monitor, and support your virtual environment from Kansas City, and Robb, Duane, or Sean answers when you call.

Ideal for businesses outgrowing shared hosting. If you’re running a business application, database, or internal server that needs reliable performance and dedicated resources without the complexity of managing your own physical hardware, virtual server hosting is the right fit.

What you get with CyteWorks virtual hosting

Dedicated Resources

Guaranteed CPU, RAM, and storage allocated to your VMs. No noisy-neighbor problems from other tenants competing for the same hardware.

Private Environment

Your VMs are isolated from other clients. Network-level separation, no shared hypervisor tenancy with unknown neighbors.

Scalable On Request

Need more CPU or RAM? We can scale your VM without migrating data or changing configurations. Call us and it’s done.

Backup Included

Regular VM snapshots and backup as part of the service. Your virtual environment is protected with tested recovery procedures.

Local Management

We manage the hypervisor layer, hardware, and facility. You manage your VM. Same team that handles your network and devices.

24/7 Monitoring

Infrastructure monitoring around the clock. We know about issues before they affect your applications — often before you do.

Virtual server hosting FAQ

How is your virtual hosting different from AWS or Azure?

Three main differences: physical location, dedicated hardware, and local support. AWS and Azure put your workloads in massive shared data centers across the country. We put them in our own underground facility in Kansas City, on hardware dedicated to our clients. And when something needs attention, you talk to Robb, Duane, or Sean — not a support ticket queue.

What operating systems can I run on a virtual server?

We support Windows Server and common Linux distributions. If you have a specific OS requirement, let us know and we’ll tell you whether it’s supported. Most business application requirements are straightforward to accommodate.

How do I access my virtual server?

Remote access via RDP (Windows) or SSH (Linux) over VPN or direct connection. We set up secure access as part of provisioning. If you want site-to-site VPN back to your office, we can configure that as well.

What does virtual server hosting cost?

Pricing depends on the resources you need — CPU cores, RAM, storage, and bandwidth. We don’t publish a rate card because requirements vary significantly. Call us at (816) 272-5246 and give us a sense of what you’re running and we’ll give you a straight answer on pricing.
